On the Breakfast Show this week, we were joined by Carmel from Creative Connections and Dementia Ireland. Carmel was able to speak about her experience with memory loss, and brought awareness to the wide range of conditions that can contribute to memory loss, and the fears that most people have on hearing the terms for the first time. Over the course of conversation, Carmel was able to explain to Jason how difficult it was to find support, and how she was able to create a community of people who were experiencing similar difficulties.
Carmel shared information with us about the Memory Cafe in Oughterard, which is an upcoming informal get-together that will facilitate a community between people who live with memory loss, of all types and severities, as well as the crucial carer network that support them through life.
