On the Breakfast Show, Paula Queiroz, founder of Lesbgalway, shared her journey of settling in Ireland after arriving from Brazil six years ago. She spoke about the struggles she faced in finding accommodation and building a sense of belonging in Galway as a lesbian. These early challenges, she said, were part of what motivated her to create a community space focused on connection, support, and safety for women who often feel excluded or underrepresented because of who they are. Paula also mentioned that the idea for starting the group came from her mother, who encouraged her to turn her experiences into something that could help others.
