As more of us live longer, our chances of developing a chronic disease such as cancer, heart disease, or diabetes increase. That’s why it’s important to focus on living healthfully. Age-Well is a weekly health talk series featuring individuals with expertise in a broad array of aging-related topics.
We are happy to announce the launch of our Age-Well Healthcare series on GOCOM Radio, every Sunday at 5pm.
Hosted by a geriatric nurse specialist, research expert, and educator, Olayinka Aremu, this series provides education and resources on all aspects of aging living. She will be speaking on timely topics affecting the lives of older adults and their loved ones. Each week she will talk about subjects both informative and entertaining and help educate listeners about living better and longer.
The series will cover a variety of topics, including medication management, end-of-life, technology, mental health, financial exploitation, and other important issues in aging. Working together, increasing our knowledge, and understanding these issues' various perspectives will help in our common mission to better serve older adults.
Each week, Olayinka will share expert insights surrounding tips for aging well, dealing with dementia, caregiving, and end of life. Each episode contains evidence-based information and resources to help you deepen your understanding of aging and take caring for older adults to a whole new level.
Whether you are in your teens or in your nineties you are aging! The Age-Well healthcare talk series will also emphasize that it's okay to Age well, Feel well, and Look great while doing it. It is a positive and uplifting talk series with the goal of inspiring people of all ages to live their best life.
You will learn what really works when it comes to improving health and well-being while aging as I will be discussing common health problems that affect people over age 60, and the best ways to prevent and manage those problems they also often address common concerns and dilemmas that come up with aging parents.
This program will particularly focus on the black and migrant communities who are navigating the changing parent/child dynamic with their aging parents or grandparents (those who are worrying about their parents). This talk will provide weekly tips and advice about having hard conversations with your parents and what you need to know about their finances, health, and overall well-being.
