Galway, Ireland – In the lead-up to the highly anticipated Afri Health Summit 2025, Moradeun Oduwole, a respected pharmacist and advocate for health equity, joined GOCOM Radio live to share powerful insights on African-led health solutions and the urgent need for culturally informed healthcare conversations.
Speaking with Jason Browne on The Breakfast Show, Moradeun highlighted the critical gaps in healthcare access facing African and migrant communities in Ireland and across the diaspora. She emphasised the importance of creating safe spaces where health topics — including mental health, nutrition, reproductive health, and chronic disease prevention — are addressed through an inclusive and culturally relevant lens.
“When people don’t see themselves in the conversation, they disengage,” Moradeun said during the interview. “The Afri Health Summit is about reclaiming that space — bringing experts, community leaders, and everyday people together to talk health in a way that resonates.”
She also spoke about the summit’s mission to amplify African voices in healthcare policy and practice, stressing that the solutions to many challenges already exist within the communities — they simply need platforms like the summit to be heard.
The Afri Health Summit will take place on Friday, 25 July 2025, featuring panels, workshops, and exhibitions led by African and diaspora health professionals. Venue is Crown Plaza Hotel, Blanchardstown, Dublin. Registration detail is on Eventbrite
