GOCOM Radio is a social enterprise committed to creating, producing, and broadcasting culturally adept content tailored for marginalised audiences. Our primary focus involves positive profiling, skill showcasing, disseminating inclusive information, and fostering multilingualism.
We actively engage with various segments including youth, individuals encountering language barriers, the traveler community, and people with disabilities to amplify their voices and cater to their specific needs.
Collaborating with diverse groups, we strive to champion their cultures, values, beliefs, and interests while actively working to bridge societal gaps.
Our broadcast journey commenced on January 1, 2021. Official operations began on August 19, 2021, following official opening by Her Worship, Lord Mayor of Galway Colette Connolly.
We broadcast Monday to Friday, 10 am to 7pm and play indigenous music from 7pm to 10am.
Our programming includes current affairs (mainly local issues but including national issues that have a local impact), news, diversity, inclusion, migration, arts, women issues, local historical interests, law, health, children and family, drama, and podcast.
We also provide live coverage of special events from time to time. We provide free announcement slots for births, deaths, marriages, non-profit events, meetings and AGMs.
Success for me is seeing the way we tell stories change the way we see and understand each other.
